Bad Breath Rapist Arrested After 16 Years on the Run near Oakland, Details Emerge

Danville, California – Authorities in California announced the arrest of a fugitive known as the “bad breath rapist” after more than 16 years on the run. Tuen Kit Lee fled following his conviction for sexually assaulting a coworker in Massachusetts.

Lee was found guilty in 2007 of kidnapping and raping a young woman at knifepoint in Quincy, south of Boston. He evaded sentencing and became the focus of a high-profile manhunt that included appearances on television show “America’s Most Wanted” and circulating images on social media.

After being located in California’s Contra Costa County, Lee was apprehended by U.S. Marshals and local police near Danville. Despite initially providing a false name, he confessed to his true identity when confronted by authorities and was later confirmed via fingerprints.

Authorities revealed that Lee had been living in California with a female companion for 15 years, who was unaware of his criminal past. Investigative efforts linked Lee to the 2005 assault in Massachusetts through DNA evidence, as well as his distinctive bad breath that earned him his notorious moniker.

Lee is currently in custody in California awaiting extradition to Massachusetts. It remains unclear if he has legal representation at this time as the case continues to unfold.
