BREAKING: Fatal Shooting Near University of Cincinnati Leaves Two Dead and Three Injured – Latest Updates!

CINCINNATI, OHIO – A shooting incident in Corryville early Monday morning near the University of Cincinnati’s campus left five men injured, with at least two fatalities confirmed by Captain Mark Burns. Police were alerted to the sound of gunshots around 2:50 a.m. in the vicinity of East University Avenue and Highland Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered four victims, one of whom was pronounced dead on the spot. Another victim succumbed to injuries after being transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. A third person self-transported to a different hospital, while a fourth individual was taken for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The condition of the fifth individual remains uncertain.

During the incident, a person fled into a residence holding a weapon, resulting in a brief standoff with law enforcement. The individual was eventually apprehended, although it is unclear whether they were involved in the shooting. University Avenue has been closed off between Burnet Avenue and Bellevue Avenue as investigations continue.
