New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin confirmed that members of both the Woodbridge Police Department and the NYPD were involved in the search for a suspect linked to a homicide when the shooting occurred.

According to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation, the suspect unexpectedly emerged from an elevator and opened fire, prompting the officers to return fire, ultimately resulting in the suspect’s death. The incident took place at the Raritan Hotel, situated near the Royal Alberts Palace party venue on King Georges Post Road around midnight.
