Bridge Collapse Horror: 5th Victim’s Body Recovered in Baltimore Tragedy

Glen Burnie, Maryland – Authorities in Glen Burnie, Maryland, announced on Wednesday the recovery of the body of Miguel Angel Luna Gonzalez, 49, the fifth victim of the Baltimore Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse. This tragic incident has deeply impacted the community, with families mourning the loss of their loved ones.

Unified Command salvage teams made a significant breakthrough in the recovery efforts when they located one of the construction vehicles that had gone missing during the bridge collapse in March. Following the discovery, the Maryland Department of State Police was immediately notified.

The successful recovery of Gonzalez’s body from a red truck was a joint effort involving the Maryland Transportation Authority Police and the FBI. Colonel Roland L. Butler, Jr., Superintendent of the Maryland Department of State Police, expressed his commitment to the ongoing recovery operations and offered condolences to the bereaved families.

The names of three other victims, Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, and Maynor Yasir Suazo-Sandoval, have already been released. The identity of the fourth victim, whose body was recovered last month, has been withheld at the request of the family. The tragic loss of life underscores the importance of safety measures in all construction projects to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

As the community continues to grieve and support the affected families, authorities are focused on ensuring a thorough investigation into the causes of the bridge collapse. The recovery of Gonzalez’s body serves as a somber reminder of the human toll of this devastating event and the need for accountability and prevention in construction practices.

Efforts to provide closure to the families of the victims and improve safety standards in construction projects are ongoing, as authorities work tirelessly to prevent such tragedies from happening again in the future.
