Brothers Arrested in Las Vegas Father’s Fatal Robbery

Anthony and Antwan Terry face murder, robbery and kidnapping charges after authorities tracked them to St. Paul, Minnesota.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Two brothers accused of taking part in a robbery that ended with the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Reynaldo Rodis II have been arrested in Minnesota and are awaiting extradition to Las Vegas, authorities said.

Antwan Terry, 36, and Anthony Terry, 38, were arrested Oct. 27 by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office in St. Paul, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Each faces open murder with use of a deadly weapon, four counts of robbery with use of a deadly weapon, four counts of first-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery. The charges are allegations, and neither man has been convicted in the Las Vegas case.

The case stems from an Oct. 15 shooting at Elevated Life, a business in the 3400 block of East Flamingo Road near South Pecos Road. Rodis was found suffering from a gunshot wound after police were called shortly before noon. Officers and medical personnel attempted to help him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. His family later identified him as Reynaldo Rodis II, a father and third-generation boxing promoter who operated several businesses.

Investigators allege three men entered the business intending to steal marijuana from a room inside the complex. Elevated Life included a barbershop, meditation and sound rooms and a marijuana area described in court documents as a “sacrament room.” Witnesses told detectives that two men displayed weapons and ordered employees to sit down while marijuana was placed into bags.

According to arrest warrant documents, Rodis confronted the group and struggled with one of the men. Another man then shot Rodis, investigators said. Witness statements cited in the warrants indicate at least one person with the group immediately questioned why the shot had been fired. Police have not publicly identified all of the people investigators believe participated in the robbery.

Detectives identified Anthony and Antwan Terry after reviewing surveillance video, witness accounts and phone information, according to court records and published reports. Police allege Anthony Terry entered the business with two other men while communicating with his brother by phone. Investigators said Antwan Terry remained outside and was seen on the phone during the robbery.

The brothers had been at the business a day earlier, investigators said. Published accounts of the warrant documents say an employee contacted them during an unrelated dispute involving another customer. Police allege the Terry brothers returned the next day and became involved in the robbery. Investigators have not said they believe Rodis’ killing itself was planned before the group entered the business.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed Anthony Terry near a camera during the robbery. A detective wrote that Terry appeared to try to disable the system by kicking a power cord. Investigators later searched a residence associated with him and recovered clothing they believed matched what he was wearing in the surveillance footage, according to the warrant documents.

The investigation intensified after the shooting when police received information that the brothers might leave Las Vegas. A woman interviewed by detectives said Anthony Terry became alarmed the morning after the killing and said they needed to leave, according to the warrant account. Investigators later found that the brothers’ phones had gone offline. Arrest warrants were issued before authorities located the men in Minnesota.

A separate Oct. 29 report from 8 News Now characterized both men as having extensive criminal histories. However, the underlying report was not accessible for independent review, and the reliable court and law-enforcement sources consulted for this article did not provide enough detail to accurately reconstruct each brother’s prior convictions. Specific past offenses therefore are not included here rather than presenting unverified criminal-history information as fact.

Both Terry brothers remained in custody in Minnesota following their arrests while authorities prepared to return them to Nevada. Police have said additional people may have been involved in the robbery, but no complete public accounting of the other suspected participants had been released. The homicide investigation remains active, and the charges against Anthony and Antwan Terry will be resolved through the court process.
