Bus Crash Chaos: Multiple School Buses Collide in Chicago Suburb, Injuring Dozens of Students – Developing Story!

AURORA, Illinois – A collision involving multiple school buses in a Chicago suburb on Tuesday morning resulted in nearly a dozen students sustaining injuries, as confirmed by authorities.

According to Illinois State Police, the incident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. on northbound Interstate 55 at milepost 246 in Grundy County, involving at least three school buses.

At the scene, reports indicated minor injuries, with 11 students receiving medical attention at various area hospitals. Morris Hospital disclosed that two students were taken to their facility, all in stable condition, while Silver Cross Hospital received four patients at their emergency room.

In response to the situation, additional school buses were summoned to the scene to assist in relocating the students, with The Loves Truck Stop on the east side of I-55 designated as the relocation site by state police. By late morning, all students had been safely relocated off the interstate.

As the day progressed, Braidwood police conducted an investigation and arranged for the transportation of students back to Reed Custer Middle School. Police presence remained heavy at the Middle School to facilitate the reunion process for families.

Meanwhile, authorities maintained the temporary closure of the right lane on I-55 as investigations and clean-up efforts continued.
