Capcom Drops Game-Changing Dragon’s Dogma 2 Update with New Features and Fixes!

London, England – Capcom has recently rolled out the first title update for Dragon’s Dogma 2, introducing several essential features to enhance the gaming experience.

The update, referred to as 1.050, is now available on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, with the release on Xbox Series X and S expected in the coming days. One significant addition in this update is the ability to initiate a new game even when existing save data is present. This feature was notably absent in the initial launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2, prompting modders to find workarounds, particularly in the PC version of the game.

In addition to this, Capcom has increased the availability of Art of Metamorphosis items at Pawn Guilds to 99. These items allow players to customize their characters, forming part of the microtransactions offered by Capcom for real-world currency.

Moreover, console players of Dragon’s Dogma 2 now have access to various graphics and performance options, including the ability to toggle motion blur and ray tracing settings. Critically, Capcom has also introduced the option to switch frame-rate between variable and a maximum of 30fps, addressing concerns raised by players regarding performance issues, especially on CPUs due to a high number of non-playable characters (NPCs). While the motion blur and ray tracing toggle may not significantly enhance frame-rate, Capcom has assured players that substantial improvements are in development.

Despite facing backlash over microtransactions and performance concerns, particularly on PC, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has emerged as the most significant launch for a single-player Capcom game on Steam, with a peak high of 228,585 concurrent players. For those immersed in the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, IGN offers resources such as an interactive map, walkthrough guides, and information on Pawns and Pawn Specializations.

The title update for Dragon’s Dogma 2 includes various improvements such as the option to commence a new game with existing save data, increased availability of Art of Metamorphosis items, and adjustments in quest progression for players’ dwellings. Additionally, graphical and performance enhancements have been implemented for the PlayStation 5 and Steam versions, offering players more control over motion blur, ray tracing, and frame-rate settings. Future updates are expected to further enhance the gaming experience for Dragon’s Dogma 2 enthusiasts.
