Car crashes into medical facility, two hospitalized

POMONA, CA – An incident that took place late on Monday in Pomona led to two people being sent to the hospital. As they were exiting the 10 Freeway, their vehicle slammed into a medical facility.

According to local police, the event occurred around 11:15 p.m. The vehicle was headed west on the 10 Freeway, exiting via the Garey Avenue off-ramp.

The driver that caused the crash ignored the stoplight. The vehicle then plowed through a sidewalk, which then resulted in the car crashing into the wall of Femcare Medical Associates. This clinic caters to women’s health and is located at the intersection of Orange Grove Avenue and Artesia Street.

After the dangerous accident took place, both the driver and the passenger of the vehicle were trapped inside. Fire department officials promptly extricated the victims from the twisted metal and transported them to Pomona Valley Medical Center. Their health status at this time hasn’t been disclosed by authorities as of yet.

Fortunately, despite the damaging accident, no pedestrians or bystanders in the vicinity were hit or injured by the crash.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol have publicized that an investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
