Cashew Nuts Recall Alert: Check Trader Joe’s Lot Codes Now to Stay Safe from Salmonella!

Los Angeles, California – Trader Joe’s has issued a recall for their 50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Whole Cashews due to potential salmonella contamination. Customers are urged to check their pantries for affected products with specific lot numbers and best-before dates provided by the store.

The affected batches include Lot No: T12139 with a Best Before date of Feb 21, 2025, Lot No: T12140 with a Best Before date of Mar 01, 2025, Lot No: T12141 with a Best Before date of Mar 08, 2025, and Lot No: T12142 with a Best Before date of Mar 10, 2025. Trader Joe’s advises customers who have purchased products with these lot codes to either dispose of them or return them to any Trader Joe’s store for a full refund.

The recalled cashew nuts were distributed in 16 states across the United States, including AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, ID, KS, LA, NM, NV, OK, OR, TN, TX, UT, and WA. Despite the potential contamination, at the time of the announcement, no illnesses related to the recalled products had been reported.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, salmonella is a bacterium that can lead to severe infections, particularly in children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of salmonella infection may include nausea, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

Trader Joe’s emphasized the importance of checking the lot codes and best-by dates to ensure the safety of consumers. It is crucial to follow the store’s recall instructions to prevent any potential health risks associated with the consumption of the affected cashew nuts.
