Celebrities Anne Heche’s Son Reveals Shocking Financial Woes After Mother’s Tragic Death

Los Angeles, California – Homer Laffoon, son of the late actress Anne Heche, has recently disclosed financial struggles surrounding his mother’s estate after her tragic death in 2022. The 22-year-old revealed that outstanding debts are preventing the closure of Heche’s estate, putting him in a difficult situation.

Heche, known for her role in “Another World,” tragically passed away in a fiery car crash in Los Angeles on August 5, 2022. After being in a coma, she was pronounced legally dead by the state a week later. Now, Laffoon, serving as the administrator of his late mother’s estate, is facing challenges as the estate grapples with pending charges it cannot afford.

According to court documents obtained by ET, Heche’s estate mainly consists of a modest bank account, royalty payments, and residual income from projects before her passing. The estate has garnered seven claims from creditors, with three creditors seeking a sum of $2 million.

Among the claimants are the couple who owned the property Heche crashed into during the fatal accident, and a woman who was renting the property at the time. Additionally, Thomas Jane, Heche’s ex-partner, is also among the creditors seeking over $149,000. Laffoon is currently working to negotiate settlements with these creditors to bring closure to the estate.

Facing creditor claims totaling $6 million, Laffoon shared that sales from his mother’s posthumous memoir, “Call Me Anne,” were below expectations, generating less than $25,000 in profit. Despite these challenges, Laffoon remains hopeful that all creditor claims can be resolved fairly and without legal action.

As the repaired crash site, where Heche’s vehicle collided, is up for sale for $1.35 million in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, Laffoon continues to navigate the complexities of managing his late mother’s estate to honor her legacy and settle financial obligations.
