Couple found dead at home in murder-suicide

HELENDALE, CA – A shocking double fatality in San Bernardino County appears to be the result of a murder-suicide, according to local law enforcement. Deputies discovered the bodies of a man and a woman in a Helendale residence late Saturday, both victims of gunshot wounds.

The grim discovery was made after the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a medical aid call at a home in the 26900 block of Lakeview Drive. The call, made shortly after 5:30 p.m., reported possible deceased individuals inside the residence.

When they arrived at the house, deputies found a tragic scene. Both of the victims had suffered gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene. The deceased have been identified as Helendale residents Aaron Fulkerson, 44, and his wife, Ondrea Fulkerson, 47.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated initial investigations suggest Aaron shot his wife, Ondrea, before turning the gun on himself. However, their official cause and manner of death are yet to be confirmed. Investigators are still waiting on the results of related autopsy reports to determine how they died.

The department’s Specialized Investigations Division has taken over the investigation. They urge anyone with relevant information to get in touch with Division Detective Shawn Thurman.
