Couple found shot to death in their bedroom

HOUSTON, TX – In a tragic incident in Houston’s Greater Uptown area, a man and a woman were found dead in a townhome early on Monday morning. According to local police, the deaths could be a case of murder-suicide.

The Houston Police Department responded to a call to a townhome located on Jamestown Mall Street, close to Briar Ridge Drive, around 1:20 a.m.

Family members and friends were unable to establish any contact with the couple. Because of the lack of contact, they showed up at the townhome to check in on the couple. To their horror, they discovered both individuals, reportedly in their 30s, dead in their bedroom from gunshot wounds, police said.

Authorities have indicated that evidence currently suggests the man may have been the shooter, although inquiries into the exact circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting are ongoing. “They both had apparent gunshot wounds and there was a pistol recovered next to the male,” stated Sgt. Adrian Lopez.

Additional details contributed to the mystery of the couple’s untimely deaths. The deceased man apparently had a court date scheduled possibly for Monday, which was related to an unspecified charge.

Investigators are still trying to determine the exact timing of the shooting incident.
