Crazy cat man shoots roommate 7 times over cat dispute

FORT MYERS, FL – A dispute over the number of cats in a Florida home turned violent when a man allegedly shot his female roommate multiple times, according to local law enforcement.

Glenn White, 59, reportedly fired ten rounds at his roommate during the heated disagreement. The victim was hit seven times in her lower body, twice in her rib area and once in her finger, as per the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on March 8, when police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence in southern Florida. Upon arrival, officers discovered the woman had been seriously injured by multiple gunshot wounds.

White was apprehended by authorities and the injured woman was rushed to Gulf Coast Medical Center for treatment. Once she regained consciousness and was able to communicate, she shared the details of the dispute leading up to the shooting.

White, who had recently been evicted from his own home, had been invited to stay at the woman’s residence. He initially brought three cats with him, but the number quickly escalated to six. The woman expressed her desire for the cats to be kept outside, leading to the argument that ended in gunfire.

The victim recounted how White threatened her life before opening fire. She pleaded with him to stop the shooting, and he eventually allowed her to call 911.

Upon investigation, law enforcement discovered four 40mm casings in a bedroom and a black and silver Smith & Wesson SD40 firearm on a dresser.

White was charged with one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and remains in custody at the Lee County Jail. His bond is set at $25,000 and he is due to appear in court on April 8.
