Dad kills 1-year-old daughter on Valentine’s Day

MACON, GA – A disturbing incident in Georgia has led to a father being charged with murder following the death of his 1-year-old child on Valentine’s Day. In the early hours of February 14, Bibb County deputies began an investigation into a death within the 2000 block of Old Clinton Road, marking a grim start to the day. At around 12:05 a.m., deputies responded to a disruption within the 3800 block of Flamingo Drive.

Upon arrival at the scene, they encountered an injured woman named Janet Dorn, who had been involved in a violent altercation. Shandrea Spencer, Dorn’s daughter, who made the initial call to report the disturbance, was also at the scene.

According to officials, Dorn reported that her granddaughter, Spencer’s 1-year-old daughter, had been abducted by the man who assaulted her. The assailant was identified as 19-year-old Macon resident Akiem Jamal Jordan, the father of the child.

An alert to “Be On The Lookout” was released for Jordan, and an accompanying white vehicle was occupied by 20-year-old Rahem Devar Ferrell.

Deputies located Jordan and Ferrell at approximately 3:03 a.m. Tragically, the 1-year-old girl was discovered unresponsive in Jordan’s custody. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful, and she was declared dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. An official autopsy has been announced.

As a result of the investigation, both Jordan and Ferrell were taken into custody at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Ferrell faces charges of murder alongside two counts of aggravated assault. Jordan is facing a murder charge and three counts of aggravated assault. He is now being held without bond.

Following the incident, Dorn was transported to a medical facility for treatment and is currently reported to be stable.
