Dad works deadly hit-and-run scene without realizing his son was the victim

BINGHAMTON, NY – A New York state official experienced a personal tragedy when he responded to a fatal hit-and-run site on February 17, only to discover that the victim was his own son.

Binghamton Police confirmed that Tyler Beschorner, 29, succumbed to his injuries in a hit-and-run accident after he was hit by an unidentified vehicle while walking on a highway early in the morning. The seriousness of the accident led to road closures, prompting Corey Beschorner, a New York State Department of Transportation employee and Tyler’s father, to be called in for help.

In a heart-rending statement, Corey confessed to WBNG said, “When we were setting up we were saying somebody’s world is going to be turned upside down tonight. I didn’t know it was mine or my family’s”

The authorities are still on the lookout for the vehicle involved in the tragic hit-and-run. Tyler, who is remembered for his genuine personality and charisma, was a devoted father to a 7-year-old son named Jayden.

One of Tyler’s friends initiated a GoFundMe campaign where they emphasized how central Tyler and his son were in each other’s lives.

Police are asking for anyone with relevant information regarding the fatal hit-and-run incident to contact Binghamton detectives.
