Dangerous Storm Forces Evacuation Order in Topanga Canyon! Find Out Which Areas Are at Risk

LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. – As Southern California braces for a dangerous storm bringing heavy rain, some residents in the Topanga Canyon area have been ordered to evacuate. The evacuation order for areas along Santa Maria Road north of Topanga Canyon was issued due to the high risk of mud and debris flows. Residents have been urged to leave the area as soon as possible and monitor weather conditions.

In addition to the evacuation order, warnings have also been issued for several unincorporated parts of L.A. County near the Agua Fire, Bobcat Fire, Lake Fire, and Owen Fire burn scars. These warnings will be in effect starting 10 a.m. Sunday through 6 p.m. Tuesday. The City of Duarte has also issued an evacuation warning for an area in the Fish Fire burn scar from 6 p.m. Sunday through 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Specific areas under evacuation warnings include Soledad Canyon Road east of Agua Dulce Canyon Road for the Agua Fire, Juniper Hills and Valyermo areas for the Bobcat Fire, and Lake Hughes and King Canyon areas including various blocks for the Lake Fire.
