Missing man found buried in his own backyard, daughter caught stealing benefits

Authorities in Nevada have made a disturbing find while investigating the disappearance of a 95-year-old man. Bruce Brown was discovered buried in a homemade coffin in his own backyard, according to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation was initiated after it was revealed that Brown had not been heard from or seen for some time. Further inquiries revealed that his daughter, Gennice Walker, had allegedly been exploiting his Social Security and VA benefits. While Walker has been arrested on charges related to the stolen benefits, she has not yet been charged in connection with her father’s death or burial.

Detectives traveled to Kansas City, Missouri, to question Walker, but she refused to cooperate with the authorities. She was subsequently arrested on a warrant for larceny related to the misappropriation of her father’s benefits. However, charges regarding her involvement in his death and burial have not been filed at this time. Following her arrest, deputies returned to Nevada and executed a search warrant at a residence in Pahrump, a town located on the border with California, approximately 60 miles from Las Vegas. It was during this search that Brown’s body was discovered.

The news of Bruce Brown’s tragic fate has left the community in shock. Photos shared on the Pahrump News Facebook page depict investigators and an earth mover at the scene. One woman, who knew Brown well, expressed her grief, describing him as a kind-hearted individual who loved books and frequently visited the library. She had been concerned about his well-being and now mourns his loss.

Gennice Walker remains in custody at a Kansas City jail and will be extradited back to Nye County to face charges related to the stolen benefits. As the investigation into Bruce Brown’s death and burial continues, authorities are working diligently to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding his tragic demise.
