Las Vegas, Nevada – At this year’s National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference, Blackmagic Design unveiled the latest version of its popular video editing software, DaVinci Resolve 19. Packed with new features such as the Film Look Creator and AI-powered tools like the IntelliTrack AI tracker, this update promises to streamline post-production workflows and enhance the editing experience.

During an interview with Stuart Ashton, Business Development Manager at Blackmagic Design, it was revealed that the new “Film Look Creator” feature aims to replicate film properties like halation, bloom, grain, flicker, gate weave, and vignetting. In addition, the “Defocus Background” tool allows users to isolate foreground elements using blur effects, with the option to mimic the look of anamorphic lenses.

The introduction of IntelliTrack AI in DaVinci Resolve 19 brings innovative tracking options to the software, including a point tracker for tracking and stabilization, as well as automatic audio panning for immersive sound experiences. The Fairlight audio section also received updates, with new features like Dialogue Separator FX and Music Remixer FX improving control over dialogue tracks and music remixing capabilities.

For live TV broadcast applications, DaVinci Resolve 19 offers a range of features on the Cut Page, enabling users to select live camera recordings for instant replay with slow motion effects and the insertion of stingers. The implementation of Point of Interest markers simplifies the navigation of camera angles and playback of desired moments with added effects.

The comprehensive list of new features in DaVinci Resolve 19, as provided by Blackmagic Design, includes enhancements like AI-powered noise reduction, advanced color grading tools, improved rotoscoping capabilities, and integrated Ambisonics workflow for immersive audio experiences.
