DC’s Superman Cast Adds Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, James Gunn Making Big Moves in Daily Planet

Atlanta, Georgia – James Gunn is expanding the fictional newsroom of the Daily Planet in his upcoming film “Superman.” Mikaela Hoover and Christopher MacDonald have joined the cast of this highly anticipated movie, which is being produced by DC Studios and currently filming in Atlanta.

David Corenswet is set to star as Clark Kent/Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan playing the role of Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane. Hoover will portray Cat Grant, a character known in the comics as a gossip columnist with a romantic interest in Kent. MacDonald, on the other hand, will take on the role of Ron Troupe, a highly skilled reporter in the newsroom.

Joining the cast is Beck Bennett, who will be playing Steve Lombardo, a character described as a self-serving reporter and foil to the noble Clark Kent. The film, scheduled for release on July 11, 2025, will also feature Nicholas Hoult as the iconic villain Lex Luthor.
