Dead body found during search for missing baby girl

REYNOLDS STATION, KY – A shocking development unfolded in Kentucky on Friday, June 17, as the Kentucky State Police confirmed the discovery of an infant’s body which is believed to be that of Miya Rudd. The body was carefully hidden at Hardin Lane in Reynolds Station and is set to be examined by the Ohio County Coroner’s Office as well as the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office. The ongoing investigation into the case has garnered broader attention following Baby Miya’s disappearance during a welfare check at her home.

Upon investigating her residence at Deanfield Church Road, police unearthed illegal drug trafficking operations involving the infant’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, as well as her grandfather, Ricky Smith.

Following these alarming revelations, Tucker, Rudd, and Smith were subsequently apprehended by law enforcement and charged with drug possession and abandonment of a minor.

Further investigations around the search for the eight-month-old unfolded additional unrelated arrests comprising Baby Miya’s grandmother, Billie Smith, who had an existing warrant based on a domestic violence incident in 2023.

Furthermore, a search of the residence of Taletha Tucker and David Tucker, Miya Rudd’s maternal grandparents, resulted in their arrests owing to pending outstanding warrants. Brodie Payne also found himself in police custody following connections to the illicit drug operation being carried out at Miya’s residence.
