Deadpool & Wolverine Steal the Show at Disney’s CineEurope Presentation!

BARCELONA, SPAIN – Disney made a grand entrance at the CineEurope trade show, basking in the success of their recent hit movie “Inside Out 2.” The film shattered records with a global opening weekend earning $295 million, marking the biggest opening of the year so far and the highest ever for an animated movie worldwide. The excitement continued as the film’s total box office reached $380 million, much to the delight of Disney’s head of global theatrical distribution Tony Chambers.

Amid celebrations for the success of “Inside Out 2,” Disney turned its attention to upcoming projects, including the highly-anticipated “Deadpool & Wolverine.” The third installment in the R-rated Deadpool franchise, set to be released on July 26, showcased an extended scene featuring Ryan Reynolds as the iconic character. Reynolds himself made a special appearance in full Deadpool costume, adding to the excitement surrounding the film.

Another highlight at the event was the presentation of “Alien: Romulus,” a new entry in the renowned Alien franchise set to be released on Aug. 16. Director Fede Álvarez introduced extended footage, promising a return to the series’ horror roots. The audience was treated to a glimpse of what to expect from this latest installment.

Looking ahead to future releases, Disney teased audiences with glimpses of “Moana 2,” scheduled for release on Nov. 29, and “Mufasa: The Lion King,” an origin story for the beloved classic due out in December. The event also included sneak peeks at Marvel’s “Thunderbolts,” starring Florence Pugh and Sebastian Stan, as well as the upcoming live-action adaptation of “Snow White,” featuring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot.

On the Searchlight side of Disney, Brendan Fraser provided a special message from the set of “Rental Family,” a comedy drama set in Tokyo. Fraser’s return to the screen in this unique role added to the anticipation surrounding the film, which is his first project since his Oscar win for “The Whale.”

The event at CineEurope showcased Disney’s diverse range of upcoming releases, from action-packed superhero films to animated sequels and heartfelt dramas. Amidst the buzz and anticipation surrounding these projects, the audience was left eagerly awaiting the next wave of cinematic offerings from the entertainment giant.
