MINNEAPOLIS – During a recent Disney on Ice performance at Target Center, a skater portraying Belle was injured in a fall, officials have confirmed. The skater was taken to a local hospital and was reported to be in critical but stable condition as of Saturday night, according to a press release.
The injured performer is not a local Minnesota skater with the production, a spokesperson confirmed. The incident occurred about 40 minutes into the show, with witnesses describing a lift that appeared shaky before the skater fell.
Beka, who attended the morning show with her children, expressed gratitude for the remaining staff and performers who continued the show, preserving the magic for the kids despite the difficult situation. Another spectator, Christina, commended the crew for swiftly attending to the injured skater and expressed heartfelt concern for the performer’s well-being.
Disney on Ice has expressed appreciation for the well wishes from fans as the team member recovers. The show is scheduled to run from Feb. 9-11 in Minneapolis, with further updates on the injured performer’s condition to come.
