Los Angeles, California – Pop superstar Britney Spears and her now ex-husband, Sam Asghari, have come to an agreement to settle their divorce less than a year after Asghari filed for divorce to end their 14-month union. The legal procedures are still pending a judge’s approval, with Spears filing a response to Asghari’s initial petition, and the former couple filing a Stipulated Judgement.
Their relationship was not without its tumultuous moments, with Asghari accusing Spears of infidelity last August which led to him moving out of their shared home and subsequently filing for divorce. Despite the rocky ending, both parties have spoken fondly of their time together, with Spears referring to Asghari as “a gift from God” in her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” while Asghari has mentioned their time together as “a blessing.”
Spears had a prenuptial agreement with Asghari in place before their wedding in June 2022, ensuring that he would not receive any pay or spousal support as a result of the agreement. The prenup is reported to include an extensive confidentiality clause that would prevent Asghari from speaking publicly about their relationship.
This marks Spears’ third marriage, having previously been married to Kevin Federline with whom she shares two sons, and to childhood friend Jason Alexander in a short-lived union that was quickly annulled. As the finalization of their divorce awaits judicial approval, Spears and Asghari are now moving forward separately after their brief but eventful time together.
