Dragon Quest Trilogy Remake Teased: Could I and II be Next?

Tokyo, Japan – Fans of the popular video game series Dragon Quest have been eagerly anticipating the release of Square Enix’s Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. The latest updates suggest that there may be hope for the return of the first two games in the series as well.

Speculation has been fueled by a comment from a reliable leaker known as Midori, who hinted that the new remake could potentially feature the entire trilogy, including Dragon Quest I, II, and III. Although the latest video teaser for the game mentions the “legend of Erdrick,” a key character in the series, there is no definitive confirmation regarding the inclusion of the third game in the trilogy.

The original three Dragon Quest releases are collectively known as the ‘Erdrick Trilogy,’ with the hero of the third game being bestowed with the title of Erdrick. Midori has suggested that more information about the trilogy release may be announced during the next Nintendo Direct event, with a projected release date set for the end of the current fiscal year.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake was first announced in May 2021 and has been in development for some time. Fans have speculated that a potential trilogy release could explain the lengthy development process for this project. Additionally, Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii has hinted at the possibility of remakes for the first two games in the series, although nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Despite the excitement surrounding the prospect of a Dragon Quest trilogy collection, no official confirmation has been made at this stage. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for further updates as more information becomes available. Would you like to see the first two games receive the same HD-2D treatment as the third installment?
