Pensacola, Florida – Authorities in Pensacola, Florida, made a startling discovery when they found a 31-year-old man wanted for a shooting incident this spring folded inside a dryer. David Jerome Jackson, identified by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office as a suspect in a March 15 shooting, had been on the run before being located in a house in west Pensacola.
The coastal city of Pensacola sits at the southwestern edge of the Sunshine State, close to the Alabama border and approximately 55 miles southeast of Mobile, Alabama. Deputies received a tip about Jackson’s possible whereabouts, leading them to serve a search warrant at a residence about four miles southwest of downtown Pensacola.
Upon entering the home, deputies conducted a thorough search that eventually led them to the laundry room, where they found Jackson folded inside a small dryer drum. Described as a combination of guilt, embarrassment, and warm hosiery, Jackson was removed from the dryer, revealing dryer sheets, mismatched socks, and a crumpled-up tissue stuck to his Star Wars shirt.
Jackson was taken into custody and faces charges including shooting into a dwelling, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, damage to property, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Details regarding the shooting incident he was connected to were not immediately provided by officials.
