Eagles’ Offensive Coaching Staff Overhaul: What You Need to Know About the 2024 Changes

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The Philadelphia Eagles are making significant coaching changes for the upcoming season. While the defensive side of the team will see a complete overhaul under new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, the offensive side, led by new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, will retain several key coaches.

Among those staying on the offensive coaching staff are legendary offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, wide receivers coach Aaron Moorehead, running backs coach Jemal Singleton, tight ends coach Jason Michael, and associate head coach and passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo. Notably departing are offensive coordinator Brian Johnson, quarterbacks coach Alex Tanney, assistant offensive line coach Roy Istvan, and senior offensive assistant Marcus Brady, each taking on new roles in different teams.

The decision to retain Moorehead, Singleton, and Michael indicates a belief by the Eagles’ leadership that the offensive struggles in the second half of the previous season were more related to play calling and offensive structure than coaching effectiveness. Moore will step in as the new offensive coordinator, implementing his own system separate from Sirianni’s.

Stoutland, entering his 12th year with the Eagles, has a strong track record of developing Pro Bowl offensive linemen, with players like Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, and others earning numerous accolades. Singleton has worked with Pro Bowl running backs, while Moorehead has achieved success with wide receivers like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Michael has contributed to the development of tight ends, notably Dallas Goedert.

Notable additions to the offensive staff include quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier and offensive assistant Kyle Valero, who has a history of coaching with Moore on other teams. With these changes, the Eagles are looking to revamp their offensive coaching staff for the upcoming season while maintaining a core group of experienced coaches like Patullo, Paganetti, and Stoutland from their Super Bowl-winning season in 2017.
