Election Jolt: President Biden’s Re-Election Campaign Rakes in $10 Million in 24 Hours After State of the Union Address

Washington, D.C. – President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign received a significant financial boost of $10 million within 24 hours following his State of the Union address. This surge in donations reflects a record for Biden’s re-election efforts and underscores the momentum the campaign is looking to build as it moves towards the general election.

The funds were a result of approximately 116,000 donations from 113,000 contributors, signifying strong support for Biden’s candidacy. This financial windfall adds to Biden’s existing advantage over former President Donald Trump, as his campaign had $56 million in reserves at the end of January, while the Democratic National Committee had $24 million. In contrast, Trump and the Republican National Committee had $30 million and $9 million, respectively, in their coffers.

Capitalizing on this financial edge, Biden’s campaign has launched an extensive advertising effort aimed at key swing states. The initial ad features Biden addressing the camera directly, highlighting his experience and ability to deliver results. The campaign is emphasizing a message of progress and juxtaposing it with the policies of the Trump administration.

In addition to the $10 million post-State of the Union influx, Biden’s campaign reported other recent highs, including a $1.5 million online fundraising surge on the day Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee. The campaign noted a significant increase in grassroots fundraising, setting new records for online contributions over the past four months.

Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez expressed gratitude to supporters for their commitment to re-electing Biden and Vice President Harris. She emphasized the importance of the upcoming election for safeguarding freedoms, rights, and democracy. Referencing Biden’s past remarks celebrating policy achievements, Rodriguez highlighted the contrast between the two campaigns, asserting the importance of upholding women’s rights, fair taxation, and preserving American democracy.

The fundraising success of Biden’s campaign signifies a strong foundation of support as the race for the presidency intensifies. With a substantial financial advantage and growing grassroots momentum, the campaign aims to solidify its position as a formidable contender in the upcoming election.
