CAPE CANAVERAL, FL – A family outing turned perilous Saturday when a lightning strike incapacitated their boat captain, leaving the group stranded off the Florida coast until a dramatic rescue by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The incident occurred approximately two miles east of Cape Canaveral, where seven individuals aboard a 24-foot boat found themselves adrift after the vessel lost power due to the lightning strike.
