Fatal fight between roommates leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

LAS VEGAS, NV – A dispute between roommates in northwest Las Vegas resulted in a fatal shooting on Thursday evening. One person was killed, and two others were injured, according to the local police department.

Police arrived at the scene at approximately 6:30 pm in response to reports of a shooting at the 7300 block of Nautical Stone Court near Durango Drive and Elkhorn Road. Upon arrival, officers came across two victims in the street, each with gunshot wounds. The victims were immediately pulled to safety before being taken to the University Medical Center (UMC).

As law enforcement was responding, a third victim, a woman in her thirties from the other side of the street, approached them with a gunshot wound. The suspect in the shooting subsequently surrendered without further confrontation.

All victims were transported to UMC, where a male victim in his thirties was reported dead. Meanwhile, the condition of the wounded female and a male victim in his forties have been reported as non-life-threatening.

Police believe the suspect and the two male victims were roommates involved in a quarrel that escalated into the tragic shooting incident. The injured woman is thought to have been an innocent bystander who was accidentally hit by a stray bullet.

Johansson confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and various facets are being examined to determine what escalated the situation. Although a suspect firearm has been recovered, he refused to discuss possible charges until further processing of the crime scene.
