HOUSTON, TX – A dispute between two families turned deadly in Houston’s Greater Fifth Ward on Wednesday night. Three people were shot during an altercation that occurred in the 3400 block of Love Street around 9 p.m., as per the Houston Police Department. Out of the three victims of the shooting, one of them was fatally wounded.
The authorities, upon arriving at the scene, found a woman who had been shot at least once. She was declared dead at the scene. Moreover, they discovered two injured men in two distinct nearby locations.
One man, who had been grazed by a bullet in the leg or ankle area, was taken to the hospital in a stable condition. The other injured gunshot victim, who was shot in the back, was in critical condition at the hospital.
Initial investigations revealed that at least one person had drawn a rifle and fired multiple shots at the three victims during the street fight. The authorities noted that there had been an ongoing conflict among the families involved before the violent incident broke out.
As the investigators conversed with the witnesses and sought surveillance footage from the neighboring residents, no arrests were made at the time of the report.
