Fired ABC Weatherman Rob Marciano’s Explosive On-Set Confrontation Revealed

New York, NY – ABC News recently parted ways with senior meteorologist Rob Marciano due to a heated argument with a producer on Good Morning America. Sources familiar with the situation spoke to The Daily Beast about the incident that led to Marciano’s termination. The network’s chief meteorologist, Ginger Zee, reportedly overheard the altercation and decided to report it to network leadership, citing previous complaints about Marciano’s behavior on set.

According to sources, Marciano’s firing was a result of a history of complaints against him for inappropriate workplace behavior, making this particular incident the final straw for the network. ABC News declined to comment on the matter, and both Zee and Marciano did not respond to requests for statements.

Reports surfaced earlier about Marciano’s termination over anger issues, but details of the actual confrontation that led to his dismissal were not publicly disclosed. The New York Post revealed that Marciano and Zee had a tumultuous working relationship for years and did not collaborate well.

Marciano, who joined ABC News in 2014, had previously been banned from the GMA studio in 2022 due to anger management issues, a prohibition that lasted approximately a year. The length of his exile was attributed to his discomforting behavior towards a female colleague and his inappropriate disclosures about his personal life, specifically his divorce.

Following the recent shouting match that resulted in his firing, witnesses reported Marciano’s behavior which reached Zee, ultimately leading to management’s decision to let him go. Marciano had announced in September of the previous year that he would no longer work weekends on GMA but will take on weekday shifts, transitioning from his previous weekend role.

Before his time at ABC News, Marciano was a co-anchor of Entertainment Tonight and a meteorologist for CNN. Aside from his appearances on Good Morning America, Marciano also provided weather updates for ABC’s World News Tonight.
