Florida Cold Case Solved After 56 Years Thanks to Two Brave Witnesses

Vero Beach, Florida – More than five decades after the tragic death of World War II veteran Hiram “Ross” Grayam, authorities have finally solved the case thanks to new information from witnesses who came forward after the primary suspect had passed away.

Grayam, a decorated war veteran who had settled in Indian River County after the war, was working as a milkman in April 1968 when he disappeared after his delivery route. His body, along with his milk truck, was later discovered deep in the woods, with evidence of multiple gunshot wounds.

Despite an extensive investigation at the time, no arrests were made in connection to Grayam’s murder for the following 56 years. However, new leads emerged when witnesses revealed crucial information linking Thomas J. Williams, now deceased, to the crime.

According to authorities, Williams had confessed to Grayam’s murder, ultimately leading to a breakthrough in the cold case investigation. The witnesses who came forward claimed that Williams had confessed to them about his involvement in Grayam’s tragic death all those years ago.

The case had previously gone cold in 2006 when rumors surfaced about Williams’ potential involvement, but no concrete evidence could be found at the time. With his death in 2016, detectives were hopeful that new leads would arise, leading to the recent breakthrough in the case.

Authorities are now urging anyone with information about the second man seen with Grayam before his death to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation to bring closure to Grayam’s family after decades of uncertainty. The resolution of this long-standing cold case serves as a testament to the dedication of law enforcement and the invaluable role of witnesses in seeking justice.
