Florida mother stabs three hospital employees before removing infant from ventilator

A woman in Florida shocked the community when she stabbed three hospital employees after removing her three-day-old infant from a ventilator. Kendra Greene, the suspect, has been apprehended and is now facing multiple charges, including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated child abuse. The incident took place at Palms West Hospital, where Greene had recently given birth to her newborn in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Greene returned to the hospital on Thursday to take her child. When hospital staff intervened as she attempted to leave with the baby, she brandished a knife, resulting in her stabbing three employees. Thankfully, the victims’ injuries were non-life-threatening, and they have since been treated and discharged from the hospital.

The sheriff’s office revealed that prior to the incident, Greene had entrusted the baby to a family member, ensuring the child’s safety. The Palm Beach County Fire Rescue promptly transported the infant back to the hospital, where they are currently in stable condition. However, before the stabbings occurred, a “code pink” announcement was made, alerting the hospital staff to a potential child abduction. During a code pink, no one is allowed to leave the premises, as one of the victims informed the authorities.

An eyewitness, who works at the hospital, reported that Greene forcefully removed the infant’s breathing device, along with a feeding tube and other life support equipment. She then attempted to conceal the child under her shirt. The chaotic situation escalated when Greene resorted to violence, resulting in the stabbing of three employees. The incident caused panic and chaos within the hospital, with the loudspeaker broadcasting the code pink announcement.

Law enforcement officials managed to locate Greene at her residence, but she attempted to flee in a vehicle. However, she crashed and was subsequently arrested after trying to escape by diving into a canal. The motive behind Greene’s actions remains unclear, and authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
