Four dead in suspicious house fire. Suspect found dead by suicide

BRIDGEPORT, WV – The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office has confirmed the discovery of four bodies in the aftermath of a residential fire in Ireland, Lewis County. The investigation into the cause of the fire is still ongoing, with several law enforcement agencies involved.

Details about the tragic incident began to emerge early Monday morning. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office reported that a man linked to the fatal fire had taken his own life at a residence in Kanawha County. The man, identified as 45-year-old Luke Wilson of Walkersville, West Virginia, was considered a suspect in the suspicious and deadly fire.

Deputies were initially called to a home on Ester Lane in Hugheston to investigate a report of a wanted individual. The call was made by the home’s residents, who reported that Wilson, a family member, was knocking at their door. Upon arrival, deputies observed Wilson moving inside his vehicle, but he soon stopped.

Deputies tried to coax Wilson out of the car, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found Wilson deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. More details about the incident are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently on the scene of the fire, which resulted in multiple fatalities.
