Freaky Friday 2 Cast Reunites: Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis Return with Original Stars!

Los Angeles, CA – Production has officially begun on the highly anticipated sequel to the 2003 film, Freaky Friday. The new movie will see stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their roles as the mother-daughter duo who famously switched bodies in the original film. In addition to Lohan and Curtis, the sequel will also feature returning cast members Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao.

Murray will once again portray Anna’s high school crush, Jake, while Harmon will play Tess’ new husband, Ryan, and Anna’s stepfather. Vidal Mitchell and Hudson will reprise their roles as Anna’s bandmates, Maddie and Peg, with Soong and Chao returning as the owner of a Chinese restaurant and her mother, who play a key role in the mystical elements of the storyline.

New additions to the cast include Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. The sequel is set to explore the challenges that come with blending two families, as Tess and Anna navigate the complexities of having a daughter each and a soon-to-be stepdaughter, all while dealing with the effects of another body-swapping spell.

Director Nisha Ganatra is set to helm the project, which marks over two decades since Disney’s original adaptation of Mary Rodgers’ book in 2003. The previous film was a box office hit, grossing over $160 million and gaining popularity through repeat airings on the Disney Channel.

Fans can anticipate the reunion of Curtis and Lohan on the set of Freaky Friday 2, with the nationwide theatrical release slated for 2025. The return of familiar faces and the addition of fresh talent promise to bring a new and exciting chapter to this beloved story.
