Gas station clerk shot dead over a bag of chips, suspects at large

HUMBLE, TX – Law enforcement in Humble, Texas continues to search for at least two suspects connected to the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old gas station clerk over a stolen bag of chips last Friday.

According to the Humble Police Department, the incident took place near Bush Intercontinental Airport, at the intersection of Will Clayton Parkway and the Eastex Freeway. Friday saw a significant police presence under the southbound ramp, where authorities found the victim inside a car.

Witnesses recall the incident beginning at the nearby Sunoco service station. Surveillance footage provided by the Humble Police reveals two suspects entering the store, followed by an employee in red attire.

Investigators said the employee confronted the men after he noticed them stealing a bag of chips. The duo left the store, prompting the store clerk to follow them in his car. Soon after, one of the suspects allegedly fired at the clerk’s vehicle, killing him.

Though a thorough search involving K9 units and helicopters ensued, the suspects managed to escape.
