Gaza Buildings Hit: 38 Dead! Israeli Air Strikes Cause Devastation

Gaza City, Gaza Strip – Two Israeli air strikes targeting buildings in Gaza City have resulted in the deaths of at least 38 people and left many others injured, according to Hamas officials.

The strikes, believed to have hit Hamas military infrastructure sites, caused significant devastation in Gaza’s al-Shati area, a historic refugee camp, and the al-Tuffah district. Images from the scene showed individuals carrying away the wounded and desperately searching for survivors amidst the rubble.

Reports initially indicated a death toll of 42, with the strikes possibly aimed at a senior Hamas official, as suggested by Israeli media outlets.

Hussein Muhaisen, a spokesperson for Gaza’s civil defense, described the impact of the strikes as being “like an earthquake,” emphasizing the widespread destruction to homes and the ongoing rescue efforts to save those trapped beneath the debris.

Following the attacks, the European Union’s top diplomat, Mr. Borrell, called for an independent investigation into the strikes and accountability for those responsible.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that an initial inquiry into an incident in southern Gaza revealed no direct attack by the IDF against a Red Cross facility, promising a swift examination of the matter.

The recent strikes were said to be part of Israel’s campaign to combat Hamas in response to increased tensions and violence in the region, with casualties in Gaza numbering over 37,000, as reported by the Hamas-run health ministry.

The conflict continues to escalate, prompting concerns for the safety and well-being of civilians caught in the crossfire in Gaza City.
