San Francisco, CA – Google has announced the rollout of a new sign-in page for Google Accounts on various devices, including phones, tablets, and computers. The updated sign-in page features a redesigned layout that is optimized for all screen sizes, offering a more spacious and visually appealing design that aligns with Material 3 guidelines.
The new desktop design includes two columns, with the iconic Google ‘G’ logo on the left side. The login fields for email or phone number and password are on the right side, with a blue “Next” button at the bottom-right corner. The design also includes a language switcher and links to Help, Privacy, and Terms for added user convenience.
One of the key features of the new sign-in page is its responsiveness, as it automatically adjusts to different screen sizes and devices. On wider screens, the layout includes a light blue/gray background, while on mobile devices, it shifts to a single-column layout. Additionally, some elements are now left-aligned for a more modern look.
To guide users through the redesign, Google has introduced a banner that leads to a new Google Support document, emphasizing that the steps to sign in remain unchanged. Users will need to enter the same information as before, such as their email address and password. It should be noted that older browser versions may still display the old sign-in page.
While the redesign is not yet widely available, Google anticipates that it will be fully rolled out in the coming weeks. The updated sign-in page aims to provide a more user-friendly experience across all devices, with a focus on visual enhancements and improved usability. Users can expect a seamless transition to the new design when accessing their Google Accounts in the near future.
