Guard Killed, Officer and 6 Others Injured in Florida Shooting- Suspect Also Dead

Miami, Florida – A security guard was fatally shot at a Miami-area establishment early Saturday, leading to a confrontation with police that resulted in the suspect’s death, the authorities reported. In the aftermath, an officer and six other individuals sustained gunshot wounds in the incident.

According to Doral Police, the altercation erupted when a person produced a firearm, prompting the security guard to intervene. Subsequently, the suspect brandished a gun and shot the guard, as confirmed by Miami-Dade Police officials.

Responding to the scene, law enforcement officers engaged in a gunfight. During the exchange, one officer was shot in the lower extremity, while the suspect was killed. Both the security guard and the suspect were pronounced dead at the location.

Furthermore, six bystanders were hit by gunfire and subsequently transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, their conditions varying, as per law enforcement reports. Notably, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue teams swiftly responded, ensuring the injured were swiftly transferred to appropriate medical facilities.

The injured officer was taken to JMH Ryder Trauma Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition, while a bystander was transported to HCA Kendall Trauma Center in critical condition. Additional victims were also transported to various medical centers, all listed as being in stable condition.
