Gymnastics Coach Faces Sexual Battery Charges: Shocking Details Revealed

Miami, Florida – A gymnastics coach in Key Biscayne, just 16 miles south of Miami, is facing two counts of sexual battery after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with two young girls. Oscar Olea, 38, was arrested on February 28 following accusations that he sexually abused two of his former students, aged 14 and 16 at the time in 2011.

Reports indicate that Olea initially established a brother and sister-like relationship with the girls before it turned into a sexual one, as mentioned by the youngest victim in the case to the Miami Herald.

After a hearing on February 29, Olea was ordered to be held without bond. This decision came after his initial bond of $50,000, $25,000 per charge, was set. The case evidence was also ordered to be released before the upcoming hearing by Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer.

Olea’s arraignment is scheduled to take place on March 20. USA TODAY has reached out for court documents on this case but has not yet received a response.
