Laverock was initially taken to a hospital in Winnipeg by her mother for a medical emergency on May 11. Her parents, Rob and Nicole Compton, started a GoFundMe campaign to support her during this difficult time. They shared that although her recovery was uncertain, she was showing signs of improvement.
Following her initial treatment, Laverock was transferred to a hospital in Vancouver. Recently, her parents provided an update on her condition through the GoFundMe page, revealing that she had fallen from a five-story balcony walkway after being escorted out of a secure hospital unit. She suffered life-threatening injuries, underwent multiple extensive surgeries, and is now reliant on life support.
Hallmark Channel, the network behind “When Calls the Heart,” expressed deep sadness upon hearing about Laverock’s accident. The channel’s parent company, Hallmark Media, extended thoughts and prayers to Mamie and her family during this challenging time.
Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s on-screen mother on the show, also shared a heartfelt message on social media, calling for support for the family. She emphasized the importance of coming together to help them navigate through this crisis.
Other cast members, such as Erin Krakow, who stars in “When Calls the Heart,” and other industry colleagues, have rallied support for Laverock and her family. Krakow specifically encouraged her followers to donate to the family’s fund through a link provided on her Instagram page.
