Hezbollah Strikes Israel with Burkan Rocket: Significant Military Destruction Reported

Kiryat Shmona, Israel – Hezbollah launched a Burkan rocket towards Israel on Saturday, causing significant damage to military buildings and infrastructure in the North of the country. The Burkan rocket, known for carrying explosive material and a combat warhead with a radius of 1.5-5 kilometers, struck the area. Israeli media reported the aftermath of the attack, showing the destruction caused by the rocket.

Rocket sirens sounded in the northern Israeli city of Kiryat Shmona, alerting residents to the incoming threat. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) later confirmed that two projectiles had crossed into Israeli territory from Lebanon towards Kiryat Shmona, although no injuries were reported as a result. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, specifically targeting the Givor camp in Kiryat Shmona.

In response to the attack, the IDF identified and eliminated two Hezbollah terrorists who were operating in the area of Majdal Selm. A video released by the military showed an Israeli aircraft striking the operatives. Additionally, the IDF confirmed that a surface-to-air missile was fired at an Israeli Air Force (IAF) UAV operating in Lebanese airspace, causing it to crash in Lebanese territory. Hezbollah claimed responsibility for downing the UAV, stating it was in solidarity with Gaza.

Video footage circulating online appeared to show a drone, similar in size to a Hermes 900, engulfed in flames as it fell to the ground. The IDF is currently reviewing the incident involving the downed UAV. As tensions escalated in the region, the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah continued to unfold, with both sides engaging in acts of aggression against each other.
