Hollywood actor and two young daughters die in plane crash

BEQUIA, ST. VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES – Renowned Hollywood actor Christian Oliver, aged 51, and his two young daughters, Madita, 12, and Annik, 10, were killed in a small plane crash off a Caribbean island on Thursday, according to officials. The pilot of the plane, Robert Sachs, also lost his life in the tragedy.

Known for his roles in “Speed Racer,” “The Good German,” and “Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny,” Oliver, whose real name was Christian Klepser, and his daughters were being flown from Bequia to St. Lucia. Authorities reported that the single-engine plane faced difficulties and subsequently crashed into the ocean.

The pilot, Sachs, who was also the owner of the ill-fated aircraft, had radioed the control tower at Bequia, informing them of the problems and his intention to return. Unfortunately, that was the last communication from the plane before it plummeted into the water.

A video recorded on a cellphone captured the horrific moment of the plane’s nosedive into the ocean. Fishermen and divers rushed to the crash site in boats to aid in rescue, followed by the local coast guard. Unfortunately, all four of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities found the plane wreckage under approximately 70 feet of water.

Three days before the crash, Oliver had shared a picture of a tropical beach on social media and hinted about his trip, expressing his excitement for 2024.

The German-born actor moved to the U.S. when he was 21 to pursue a career in modeling and acting. With 63 acting credits to his name, Oliver will be remembered for his diverse range of roles in film and television alike.
