Homeworld 3 Delayed Once Again – New Release Date Revealed! May 13th Confirmed by Developer

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – After several delays, Blackbird Interactive has announced yet another postponement for the release of Homeworld 3. The highly anticipated real-time sci-fi strategy game was originally set to launch on 8th March, but has now been pushed back to 13th May. This decision comes as the studio aims to ensure that the game meets the highest standards of quality before its official release.

This latest delay follows a series of setbacks, with the game being initially slated for the end of 2022, then moved to the first half of 2023, and subsequently postponed to February 2024. Despite a recent public hands-on experience through a Steam Next Fest demo, the studio felt the need for additional time to make necessary adjustments based on feedback from the gaming community.

According to a statement shared on social media, Blackbird Interactive expressed gratitude for the feedback and engagement from players, noting that it was their first time seeing the game played at scale. The studio also mentioned that they had gathered a group of external players to provide further insights and perspectives, all of which will be incorporated to enhance the overall gaming experience.

The developers acknowledged the patience of the community and assured players that they will continue to provide updates on the game’s progress. With the global launch now scheduled for 13th May and advanced access set for 10th May, Blackbird Interactive is committed to delivering a game that meets the expectations of the dedicated fanbase.

In the meantime, the War Games demo of Homeworld 3 is currently available on Steam, allowing players to experience a new roguelike mode and engage in three-player co-op. Progress from the demo will carry over to the full game upon release, providing a glimpse of what players can expect from the final version of the highly anticipated sequel.
