TEL AVIV, Israel – Three U.S. service members were recently treated for injuries related to the Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore capability, also known as JLOTS, off the coast of Gaza, as reported by U.S. Central Command.
Vice Adm. Brad Cooper, the deputy commander of CENTCOM, disclosed that the injuries sustained by the service members were non-combat-related. He mentioned that two of them have already returned to their duties, while the third is currently receiving medical care at a local Israeli hospital.
According to a defense official, the service member in critical condition was injured aboard the USNS Benavidez, which is a U.S. Navy cargo ship. The incident was reported to have involved a forklift accident.
For further medical assistance beyond what the U.S. ships offshore could provide, all three service members were transferred to Israeli medical facilities. However, no additional details regarding the incident have been released at this time.
