LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – Two fortunate Southern Californians have emerged as the latest winners in the state after the $1.13 billion Powerball jackpot numbers were revealed during Wednesday night’s draw.
The winning combination consisted of the numbers 11, 38, 41, 62, 65, with the Powerball number being 15 and a PowerPlay of 3X.
Excitement spread as two tickets matched five numbers, earning the holders a substantial $1,622,808 each. These winning tickets were sold at an Albertsons in San Dimas and the Oxnard Shores Bottle Shop in Oxnard.
Although the jackpot remained elusive due to the absence of the Powerball numbers, the main prize money is set to increase to an estimated $1.23 billion for the upcoming Saturday night draw.
In addition to the grand winners, twelve other Californians successfully matched four numbers along with the Powerball, securing a prize of $19,682 each.
Wednesday night’s jackpot marked the eighth-largest in U.S. lottery history, with odds of winning the top Powerball prize being a staggering 1 in 292.2 million. The ongoing accumulation of the jackpot began over three months ago, following a jackpot win on January 1.
