Dallas, Texas – Renowned pastor T.D. Jakes, of The Potter’s House in southern Dallas, finds himself entangled in a recent lawsuit involving music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Federal agents conducted raids on Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of a sex trafficking investigation that has been ongoing. Combs has faced multiple lawsuits over the past year, alleging sexual assault and sex trafficking.
In a federal suit filed in New York last February, producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones accused Combs and his associates of participating in a “sex-trafficking venture.” The lawsuit implicates Jakes, stating that there is evidence of Combs planning to use his relationship with Jakes to mitigate the impact of a previous lawsuit.
Combs’ former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, filed a suit in November 2023, alleging abuse, violence, and sex trafficking at the hands of Combs. Several other women followed suit with sexual assault allegations against him.
When contacted about the lawsuit, a representative for T.D. Jakes initially declined to comment on the matter. Jakes is listed alongside other celebrities in the lawsuit, including Prince Harry, actor Cuba Gooding Jr., and rapper Yung Miami.
Allegations surfaced in unverified reports on social media in December 2023, suggesting Jakes’ involvement in sex parties hosted by Combs. However, both Jakes and his ministries have vehemently denied these claims, calling them baseless and false.
Jakes’ connection to Combs extends back to 2021 when they partnered for a sermon series on the cable TV network Revolt Media. Despite Combs’ recent departure from the network, the collaboration highlights the relationship between the two figures in the entertainment and religious realms.
Known for founding The Potter’s House in 1996, Jakes leads a congregation of 30,000 members and engages in global humanitarian efforts through the church. The pastor’s reputation and involvement in high-profile events continue to garner attention and scrutiny amidst the legal challenges surrounding Combs.
