Justice Marchers Demand Justice For ‘General Hospital’ Actor Johnny Wactor Shot And Killed In Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California – Dozens of people took to the streets in downtown Los Angeles on Wednesday to demand justice for the late actor Johnny Wactor, best known for his role in “General Hospital.” Wactor tragically lost his life on May 25 in Los Angeles after an altercation with three men who were trying to steal his catalytic converter.

The 37-year-old actor was returning to his car with a colleague after a bartending shift when he noticed the theft in progress. When he confronted the perpetrators, he was fatally shot at Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. Prior to the march, a press conference was held by Wactor’s family and friends to call for justice in his case.

During the press conference, Bryan Barkley, a security guard at the restaurant where Wactor worked, pointed out the lack of street lights in the area, emphasizing the vulnerability of individuals walking there. Close friends of Wactor, such as Micah Parker, also expressed the importance of keeping his memory alive and seeking justice for his untimely death.

The district attorney’s chief deputy, Joseph Iniguez, assured the crowd that the major crimes division is actively collaborating with homicide detectives to solve the case. Despite no arrests being made at the time, Iniguez mentioned that they have generated leads to follow up on in the investigation.

Following the march, participants proceeded to City Hall where they were welcomed into a City Council meeting. Councilmember Kevin de León affirmed the city’s commitment to holding the perpetrators accountable for “this heinous act,” describing Wactor’s death as senseless and unjust. In a tribute to Wactor, his role on “General Hospital” was acknowledged with a title card at the end of the show.

The community continues to mourn the loss of Wactor, with ongoing efforts to remember his legacy and ensure that justice prevails in his case. Friends, family, and supporters remain resolute in seeking answers and closure in the wake of this tragedy.
