SAG HARBOR, N.Y. — Singer and actor Justin Timberlake found himself in legal trouble after being stopped by police in Sag Harbor, located in the affluent Hamptons area of Long Island, New York. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning when Timberlake’s gray BMW was pulled over for driving through a stop sign and failing to stay in the correct lane.
Authorities stated that upon speaking with Timberlake, it became evident that he was not fit to drive. According to police officer Michael Arkinson, Timberlake exhibited signs of intoxication such as bloodshot and glassy eyes, a strong smell of alcohol on his breath, inability to focus, slurred speech, unsteady movements, and poor performance on sobriety tests.
Claiming to have had “just one martini” and insisting he followed friends home, Timberlake refused to undergo a chemical test for impairment. Despite his arrest, Timberlake was arraigned and released without bail approximately nine hours later, as reported by police.
The musician had been dining in Sag Harbor before being stopped by law enforcement on his way to a friend’s house. Timberlake’s upcoming performances in Chicago and New York City were still scheduled, as part of his “The Forget Tomorrow World Tour” that had recently visited Miami and Tampa.
