Costner, known for his role as the director of the Space Task Group in the film, shared that he had to rely on a morphine drip for pain relief during the shoot. Costner recalled shooting the last ten days of the movie while on an IV drip of morphine. He mentioned that while the first three days were relatively normal, the following seven days were more challenging.
